The enemy of volume is weight, in thick or fine hair. By weaving the ends of hair, a perfect broken line is created – this is an exact science that should not be left to chance. The ability to break the line consistently – without thinning the hair – so that ends cannot join together, is the point of texturizing the hair. When texturizing with Rusk Shears, you create a series of minute blunt lines, which prevents the ends from joining together. You are not thinning, but stacking one length against another, thereby releasing hair’s volume and vital texture. This cannot be done by chipping into hair with conventional shears or using a razor. The effect is entirely different, and every head of hair takes on a fresh, new look.
